One of the film quality in the year 2009 had escaped the public attention is the Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans. The movie is not a sequel or a remake of Bad Lieutenant 1992 is barely audible story. Apart from a limited release by First Look Studios, the film is outvoted by a movie in 2012 and the New Moon in November 2009 slot yesterday. From the side of the story is not strange perhaps more than anything else special.
However, the most interesting part of Bad Lieutenant plots Werner Herzog is the appearance of Nicholas Cage briliyan. Actor who also became the boss Film Unit to produce this film, playing a very total and living up to his character. As a lieutenant corrupt and drug addicts, Cage looks so comfortable with her figure this bad cop.
After helping inmates in the Hurricane Katrina disaster in New Orleans, sergeant Terrence McDonagh (Cage) gets a promotion to lieutenant. But, along with a promotion that McDonagh had a greater chance of abuse of power, including corruption, gambling, blackmail, prostitution so addicted to drugs. Major problem facing when McDonagh began investigating the murder of Senegalese immigrant families, who are becoming increasingly complicated due to the condition of the lieutenant who fulfilled many of the problems caused by his own bad deeds.
During the duration of 112 minutes, the audience was in a truly police drama with the tension of being and settings tend to be boring. One-two action scenes do exist, but in its usual tempo and less exciting. The potential of this boring game slick fortunately rescued from the Cage. Emotions and anger of his lieutenants had spent with the characters very convincingly. Animates the role as a charming drug addict and fond of sex also looks perfect for Cage. Because of the prominence of the Cage, the line became a supporting cast looks saggy, including Vall Killmer, Xzibit, Eva Mendes is clearly a mere patch. If you include Cage fans of this film, it may be disappointed because the actor is removed from the Oscar event.
